Built in timber around 1100 by Gerald of Windsor, this now-ruined stone castle is a very popular historic attraction. The walk around the Castle and Tidal Mill is particularly popular. The mile long circular walk is suitable for buggies and don't forget to make a stop at the small cafe and grab an ice-cream!
Carew castle have a packed programme of children friendly events throughout the year, from Have-a-Go Archery, Falconry, Knight School, guided tours and the annual Christmas Fayre.
Be transported back in time at Tudor Merchant's House, a museum displaying a three storey house of a merchant in the year 1500. See the merchant's shop and working kitchen on the ground floor, with a living area on the first for the family., and sleeping chambers on the second. Braille guides are available.
